Audrey met best friends, Oliver and Blake in a bar, but it
was Blake that she chose to date and later marry. For years the three
friends met at their favorite Hong Kong restaurant, enjoying the unique
menu and spending the evening sharing years of friendship, but eventually
Blake quits coming. Out of a sense of duty to her husband Audrey
continues the tradition without Blake.
Audrey and Oliver have lustful feelings for one
another, but neither will acknowledge them or is even aware
of the other's feelings. Then two years ago, Audrey doesn't
come to Christmas dinner.
This year, Oliver is shocked that Audrey wants to quit
getting together for their yearly Christmas dinners. All he
knows is that he doesn't want to let her go. Hoping to ease
her fears and change her mind, they fall into their
Christmas dinner routine, chatting, and eating. Soon his
questions keep going into dangerous territory....secrets
about her husband and their marriage.
The pair spends the night together and it is everything and
more than what each of them has fantasized over the years.
However, everything changes when morning comes and the pair
goes their separate ways, leaving heartache between them.
That is until next year when a stolen cello leads Audrey
back to the man she said she didn't want anything to do
with, Oliver.
II must say
that I really enjoyed HIS UNTIL MIDNIGHT. The characters immediately
draw you into the story. There is so much more going on
than two friends getting together every Christmas for dinner
and conversation. Audrey and Oliver both have things in
their past that seem to hang them up in their lives...and
this Christmas, they confront them together, which leaves
them both feeling a bit exposed and raw. HIS UNTIL MIDNIGHT is a
definite must
read. I will certainly be looking for more books from Nikki
Logan.
Each year, Hong Kong's most kissable businessman Oliver
Harmer allows himself one Christmas present: a lavish meal
with off-limits Audrey Devaney. Keeping her at arm's
length—quite literally!—is a battle of epic proportions for
Oliver, but also an irresistible temptation. Until the year
she doesn't come.
Now the rules have changed! Because, this Christmas, Audrey
is single, and Oliver must decide if he will let her run
away at midnight for good, or fight for her to stay until
morning!
