"Romance for a Princess Is Never Easy"

Fresh Fiction Review

Recklessly Royal
Nichole Chase

Romance Contemporary

Princess Catherine is tired of being the perfect, always controlled royal. For once, she wants to be her normal, twenty-one year old "Cathy" self, not to mention she's ready to once and for all stop being a virgin. When David comes into the picture, she knows she has found her target, but what she doesn't expect is that she might be in for more than a lust-only relationship.

RECKLESSLY ROYAL by Nichole Chase is a wonderful follow-up to the first book in the series, Suddenly Royal. With this sequel focusing on Cathy instead of Sam, it can easily be read as a stand-alone as well. I love Sam and her story, but Cathy is now my favorite with her quirky, confident, and kind personality.

I love the side details with Cathy's country and the work she is doing for an art program for schools there, but the romance between her and David is hands down my favorite part of this book. The two go together so well, and I love how flirty and surprisingly devoted David is with Cathy. The two have excellent banter, and I love how smoothly their relationship progresses. David is so sensitive and cute; he has definitely earned a spot in my book-boyfriend list. I also like how some of the issues I thought might be obstacles for them were easily handled, and the surprising twists that get in the way are great plot points.

If you haven't read any novels by Nichole Chase before and you like contemporary romance, I would highly recommend her work. This is a wonderful series that's great for snuggling up with, whether it's in your room or on the beach. Filled with fun humor, hot romance, and royal duties, RECKLESSLY ROYAL is a fabulous read.

SUMMARY

Catherine has spent her life being the perfect princess. She’s kept her hands clean, her head down, and most importantly—men at arm’s length. After all, most men are after only one thing, and for Cathy there’s a lot more at stake than her bed; she has to worry about the fate of an entire nation. But at the rate she’s going, Cathy is afraid she’ll give the Virgin Queen a run for her money. She is tired of waiting for someone good enough to come along. She has a plan, and it all hinges on seducing the one man who seems utterly unimpressed by all things royal. The one man she is tempted by more than any other . . .

When David arrives at the royal wedding of his friend, the newly ordained Duchess Samantha Rousseau, he expects to feel uncomfortable and out of his element, but he isn’t prepared to be targeted by Prince Alex’s gorgeous younger sister. With Cathy’s giant blue eyes, killer figure, and sense of humor, it won’t take long before he gives in. But when he finds out just how innocent the crown princess really is, will he play the part of knight in shining armor or the dashing rogue?
