Wolf shifter Graham McNeil is under pressure from his pack to find a mate. Unfortunately, Graham's choice is human and likely not to be welcomed with open arms into his world. Graham has been a good alpha; watching over his pack and raising his nephew Dougal into adulthood. He has been smitten with Misty from the moment he first exchanged words with her but she is now looking to take their relationship to the next level or call it quits. When Misty is in the wrong place at the wrong time, she finds herself reaching out to Graham for his assistance. When Graham is shot coming to her aid, the wound launches events that leave the shifter world with many questions and heightened uncertainty regarding their fate. Graham races to unravel a plot to enslave all shifters but his greatest struggle will be listening to his wolf.
Misty Graham has spent most of her life looking out for others and putting their needs first. She has been drawn to Graham since she first met him but his actions often confuse her. She is about to throw in the towel on their relationship but instead is swept into a situation that pulls her deeper into Graham's world. Fate has brought the two of them together but it will be up to Misty to decide if she can handle truly living in Graham's world and trust Graham with her heart.
New to the series, it is sometimes a bit of a struggle to jump into a new world at book six. Jennifer Ashley again proves her skill as a writer and my curiosity is provoked regarding the entire series. This installment was filled with shifters, a variety of Fae and different paranormal species with hints of even more to come down the road in future books. There is a lot of depth in the secondary characters affording yet another reason why this series has a good following amongst paranormal readers.
Graham McNeil knows that his pack is unruly, but heโs not
sure he can take the next step toward Shiftertown stabilityโ
choosing a new mate. After losing his mate and son long ago,
Graham has worked hard to keep his heart in check. And even
if he was inclined to bind himself again, his girlfriend,
Misty, is humanโa fact that wonโt sit well with Grahamโs
old-fashioned wolves.
But Graham is up against a new enemy, one who could spell
danger and death to all of Shiftertown. Graham must now
defend his leadership and save Misty, the woman he has grown
to loveโbefore Shiftertown is pulled into an all-out war.
