Romance Historical

Sorley the Hawk has accomplished much despite being a bastard of the castle court. Not allowing his station in life to hold him back, he has become a respected figure around Stirling Castle. Honor and bravery has earned him the respect of his peers but devilishly good looks and legendary bedroom skills make him well sought after with the ladies. When Mirabelle MacLaren pops back into his life with a scandalous proposal he soon finds himself battling with his own personal demons. Despite his better judgement, he agrees to come to her aid against his sworn enemy. Sorley soon realizes that you truly cannot bury your past especially when it has a tight grip on your heart.

Lady Mirabelle MacLaren has found the perfect solution to rid her of an unwanted suitor....being ruined by his enemy! It has been many years since she first danced the reel with the handsome Sorley but she has never forgotten the effect he has on her. Mirabelle suspects that if Sorley knows how she truly feels for him and her reasons for walking away so many years ago, honor will get the best of him and he will not be a willing participant in her plan. Desperate to not land in the clutches of the despicable of Sir John Sinclair. If she is doomed to marry a man she finds repulsive, she will need memories of her time with Sorley to keep close to her heart and get her through a lifetime of misery.

TO LOVE A HIGHLANDER is a true gem of a book loaded with vivid imagery, Scottish lore and a touching "rags to riches" romance that is sure to tug at a few heartstrings. As the first full length book in Welfonder's newest series, Scandalous Scots, readers will enjoy reading about Stirling Castle and the Celtic history that the author so skillfully weaves into the tale. The secondary characters are a real delight and I look forward to finding out if any of them takes the spotlight in upcoming books. I anxiously await the second installment in this wonderful new series!

SUMMARY

A TEMPTING PROPOSITION

As one of the bastards born to the Stirling court, Sorley the Hawk has never known his mother or father. It's a burning quest he has devoted himself to uncovering at any cost. But as a roguish warrior who serves at the pleasure of the King, his prowess-both on the battlefield and in his bedchamber-is legendary. So when a flame-haired Highland lass sneaks into his quarters with a tantalizing proposition, he can't resist taking her up on her offer . . .

AN UNQUENCHABLE DESIRE

Lady Mirabelle MacLaren will do anything to keep from marrying her odious suitor, even sully her own good name. And who better to despoil her than his sworn enemy, the one they call "Hawk?" As they set about the enjoyable task of ruining her reputation, Hawk and Mirabelle soon learn that rebellion never tasted so sweet.
