a series of events that uncover much more than Joan ever
expected. She learns that no one in her life is what she
thinks not even herself. Joan over comes much in this story
and gains strength beyond what is accepted of a Victorian
woman. The interactions of the characters hold true to the
time frame and it is enjoyable watching Joan push the
boundaries of what a strong woman can be. She must chose
not only what is best for her future but for her heart.
