Sixteen year old Olivia is a thief raised in a group of thieves and on her first heist she is interrupted by another group trying to steal the same item. As she grabs the amulet and attempts to leave she is over come as the soul of King Tut is thrown into her body. Xander is part of the second group of thieves and part of a cult; he is the person who was meant to inherit the soul of King Tut. As Olivia tries to escape she and Xander are thrown together when a third group tries to take Olivia and Xander is forced to save her. Now both of their lives are in danger and they are in a race against time as the powers King Tut's soul have given Olivia threaten to kill her. They must hide from everyone trying to capture and kill them to harvest the powers Olivia now has. As their race against time begins so do their feelings for each other.

This is a young adult novel that has an interesting concept about a cult that worships King Tut and his ability to control the powers of the sun. The lead characters in this story have grown up in situations that they had little choice in and it has lead them to behave in ways you can see are contrary to who they are. Their love and ability to love is something they both discover with each other. They must learn trust and sacrifice and decide what truly matters. This book is the first in a series and leaves the characters room to grow.
