HIGHLANDER TAKEN is the second book of the series Clan Mackenzie by author Juliette Miller. I am always skeptical when jumping into a series without reading the preceding book or books, but I can say with certainty that I will pick this book up and read it again in years to come. Cleverly written in the first person, I found this book a bit of fresh air to the historical romance genre. In all honesty, I simply could not put this book down once I started it, speeding through the pages of a story that tugged at my heart in some scenes and took me to sensual highs in the next. Stella is wonderfully innocent despite an emotionally devastating past. Kade MacKenzie is the perfect mix of chivalry, charm and sex appeal delivered with highlander brawn and savvy. I am adding him to my list of all time favorites and hope to read more about him in future books. In HIGHLANDER TAKEN, Ms. Miller certainly has found the perfect combination of sensuality, sizzling chemistry and achingly sweet romance that is sure to make her an author to follow for years to come.
