Camryn and Andrew are back from their unorthodox road trip
and preparing for Camryn's pregnancy. However, when things
take a severe turn for the worse, what will happen to the
couple that fought so hard against their own emotional
issues to be together?
Having highly enjoyed THE EDGE OF NEVER, I was excited to
start THE EDGE OF ALWAYS by J.A. Redmerski. While this book
holds much enjoyment and catharsis, it did not hold up to
the standard I expected after reading the first book in the
series. Camryn and Andrew are a wonderful couple, and they
grow in different and new ways in THE EDGE OF ALWAYS than
they did in the first book. Their character development is a
strong highlight to this book. However, for me this book
lacks a big enough overarching plot. Their journey both
together and apart continues on, but it feels less direction
driven than anticipated. The writing voice is still very
smooth, and I love the alternating narrations Redmerski
craftily uses, but I miss the direction it goes. An issue
here and there might be resolved, but I feel that it doesn't
have one definitive problem that needs a resolution. Their
characters do take on a bigger form, but it doesn't feel
like a strong plot resolution exactly.
Having said that, I do think fans of the first book or of
her writing should read this, but more as a long epilogue to
their original story than an exact continuation of it. I
feel like it provides great closure to what happens to them,
but doesn't necessarily grip the reader in twists and turns
throughout the story. For someone who loves the characters,
I think this is an excellent story to turn to to see where
the characters end up, but not one to have the reader on the
edge of their seat to find out what happens next.
Overall, THE EDGE OF ALWAYS is a good novel. It contains
beautiful character development and solid writing. Even so,
its lack of a firm direction lowers it on the scale of
enjoyment for me, but still very much worth the read in the
end.

Andrew doesn't understand how this could happen to them.
He's trying to move on, and thought Camryn was doing the
same. But when Andrew discovers Camryn is secretly harboring

anything, Andrew decides to take Camryn on a new journey
