This amusing short story throws people together at a hen party on a ski holiday resort in Verbier. Flora is elbowed into playing truth or dare in the bar after some cocktails, and finds she has to kiss the sexiest man in the room. Luckily she's single, and the handsome guy at the other end of the bar whom she kisses also claims to be single. And... interested.

SECRETS OF A CHALET GIRL brings Flora, who called off her wedding to a man she realised was a control freak, together with Zac, a management consultant who loves to snowboard. Sounds like fun, even for a short fling. But Flora hasn't had flings, and she's both attracted and nervous. She's a 'seasonaire' - a seasonal worker in the resort - but she wants to make her own line of handbags and go into business. Encouraged by Zac, she goes back to his smart chalet and plays an erotic game of truth or dare. Next day the other giddy girls call her a dirty stop-out, laughing, but Flora is seriously determined not to get involved with any more competent, bossy, manipulative guys. Zac is good at what he does, so maybe that means she shouldn't see any more of him....

Some men go from woman to woman being first attentive and then domineering. Flora was unfortunate enough to find one when she had very little experience, and her strength got her out of what had become a destructive relationship. By reading her story, and the lessons she learnt, I hope some women will be warned and empowered. Doubting herself is now natural for the brave girl, but she is overcoming the mind control instilled by her former partner and finding a man worthy of her time.
