When I received A MILLION DIRTY SECRETS to review, I had to check it out online. Most seem to either love it or hate it. But I gotta say that I loved it. This book is written in both Delaine and Noah's point of view, so you are able to get a personal view into each character's mind to see what they are feeling and thinking.
Delaine's life has not been as easy one. Her mother's health is rapidly deteriorating as well as their financial stability. Since Delaine's father lost his job, he has been taking care of her mother, while neglecting his own health. If this continues, Delaine knows she will loose them both. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Delaine auctions herself off at Chicago's most exclusive club and is purchased for 2 million dollars by Noah Crawford, one of Chicago's most wealthy bachelors.
Noah doesn't know why Delaine has sold her body at the auction. But he now has the perfect business arrangement. He now has a beautiful woman to satisfy his every sensual need. Having lost both his parents in a car accident he feels responsible for, and having found his last girlfriend with his then best friend, he guards his heart fiercely.
Their arrangement begins as a business transaction, but quickly heats up. Their physical time together is intense and neither want to leave the other. While they are coming to terms with what this relationship now means to each of them individually, the truth of why Delaine sold herself at the auction comes out and Noah feels that the only way is to let her go...even if it breaks his heart to do so.
The end drops off rather quickly but that also sets you up for part two, A Million Guilty Pleasures which is due in February 2014. Now the only problem is waiting until February to continue! I am rather anxious to see what is in store for these two.
