New Adult

In some cases, the cover really does give an accurate portrayal of the contents of the book. REAL is one of those cases. The cover features a man -- Remy or "Riptide" as he is called in the ring - shrouded in darkness, looking tough but also contemplative. I think it fully encapsulates Remy's character in the book. Remy is an enigma. In the ring, he is a prized MMA fighter who garners the attention of many women and men. Outside of the spotlight, there is a different side of him that I think readers will find appealing. Brooke just happened to be one of the women who watched him perform in the ring. But when she is called back to meet Remy after the fight, she doesn't know what to expect from him. Katy Evans' writing can often be dramatic. For certain scenes such as the fights, they need to be because it's part of the show. However, I wish that Evans pulled back a bit in the more personal scenes so that Remy's character could really shine. Sometimes, I thought that Brooke confused her feelings of lust with love and as a result it undermined her emotions a little bit. Yet I could understand why she felt that way. Remy's character may be hard to understand for some people and I believe at first, Brooke was confused. As you read on, more of the understanding will come out and hopefully readers will find the real appeal to Remy apart from his fighter status. Katy Evans delivers a no-holds-barred punch that will knock out readers. With its raw design and oozing sensuality, I predict Remy will have a legion of fans screaming his name.

SUMMARY

HOT. SEXY. POWERFUL. PAINFUL. REAL. The scorching international bestseller that strips away everything you've ever believed about passion . . . . Remington Tate has a bad-boy rep in and out of the ring, a granite-hard body, and a raw, animal power that sends his female fans into a frenzy. But from the moment their eyes lock, the only woman he wants is Brooke Dumas. His desire is pure, all-consuming, and REAL. Hired to keep his perfect body working like a machine, Brooke finally has the lucrative sports therapy job she's been dreaming of. But as she tours the dangerous underground fighting circuit with Remy and his team, Brooke's own body becomes alive with the most primal of hungers. If what happens between Brooke and Remy is ever as light as a flirtation, it quickly becomes an erotic obsession for them both, and promises so much more. But their white-hot lust has a dark side--and when Remy's deepest secret comes to light and Brooke's familial duties demand action, will the pair be able to hang on, or will everything that once seemed so real suddenly fade away like an illusion?
