Mystery Cozy | Mystery Amateur Sleuth

Trixie's life takes an unexpected turn when her aunt suggests that Trixie buy the diner she own. Trixie is touched by the faith her aunt has in her. She has some big plans for the diner without touching the core values her aunt and uncle practiced. When the local health inspector keels over while eating lunch, Trixie sees all her hopes and dreams going down the drain. Despite the warnings, of the hunky deputy, Ty Brisco, Trixie is determined to prove her innocence. Her investigations will lead to a long list of other people who might have wanted to kill the inspector who used his job to get free meals. Feed me or get some some violations was Marvin Cogswell's pattern. Having him die in suspicious circumstances with a letter listing minor violations from Marvin, gives the local sheriff's department good reason to keep their investigation focused on Trixie. The strong attraction that Trixie feels towards Ty isn't enough to divert her attentions from others who might have wanted the inspector dead. Her investigation will put Trixie's life at risk but Ty comes to her rescue. If you like recipes with your reading, DO OR DINER is bound to be a winner. The mystery is well-plotted and sufficiently twisted to keep the reader guessing until the final pages. The food will keep you wishing for the next menu item. There are little twists and turns with the various people who work in the diner and there is even one that we never meet. Follow along as Trixie learns dinerese and solves her first mystery.

SUMMARY

When Trixie Matkowski agrees to take over her aunt’s diner, she pictures lakeside views and delicious comfort food in the small town where she spent summers as a child. But the sweet scene turns sour when someone puts murder on the menu… Trixie is in need of a fresh start away from her cheating ex-husband, but she may be biting off more than she can chew when she moves to upstate New York to run her family’s famed Silver Bullet Diner. Not only is she caught off guard by the small town’s resident heartthrob, Deputy Ty Brisco, but her first health inspection turns into a nightmare…when the inspector keels over in his Blue Plate Special. It seems someone made a deadly addition to an old family recipe, and Trixie is determined to find out whodunit. But between serving up orders and sniffing out clues, she’d better watch her back—or her next meal might be her last. Includes recipes!
