Zane Sutton may have had a movie career, but he's offended to be called a famous idealist know-it-all by the first neighbour he meets when he moves to Montana. He used to be a rodeo cowboy. Brylee Parrish who lives on the next-door land is in no good mood however; she's been left at the altar and since built up a successful home decor business, proving that she doesn't need a man. Now she expects the new money next door to build a Hollywood style mansion and ruin the area.
BIG SKY WEDDING takes up where Big Sky Mountain left off, in which Hutch Carmody, Brylee's ex, found love with Kenda Shepherd. In Parable County it's hard to get away from gossip, so Brylee has managed to make peace with Hutch and continue with her life. Now her sister in law, a country singer, mentions that she worked with Zane on a movie and might ask him to a family dinner. Zane has company of his own however; his young half-brother Nash has been foisted on him, none too pleased about staying in a run-down ranch house. But Zane is just glad to reconnect with his roots, as the dust is settling on his divorce from a party girl. Brylee runs into them and while still prickly, she agrees to join Zane for a ride soon, since his fine black horse has just arrived. Could this be the start of something?
The characters make this story strong, from a moody teenage girl to a housekeeper affectionately referred to as Hurricane Cleo. Nash is a keen reader, used to being abandoned by adults, but thrilled by the prospect of a horse of his own. The principal two people, Brylee and Zane, would appear to be well-suited - but their path does not run smoothly, because Zane has his image to live down, and Brylee is defensive and afraid of coming across as star- struck, like the girls in town. The distances in Montana are made smaller by caring friendships while today's economic climate does not make it easier to live from the land. Whisper Creek ranch house is the setting for a marvellous barbecue, where the sheriff turns the cooking meat as the aromas sizzle off the page.
Linda Lael Miller has written several books set in Parable County and BIG SKY WEDDING ties up most of the loose ends, but she has another book on the way for 2014 called Big Sky Secrets, which is sure to delight her many fans.
The "First Lady of the West," #1 New York Times bestselling author Linda Lael Miller, cordially invites you to Parable, Montana-where love awaits. Wedding bells are ringing in Parable, Montana, but Brylee Parrish hasn't enjoyed the sound since being jilted at the altar by Hutch Carmody. She's over Hutch now, and running a multimillion-dollar business is challenging enough for this country gal. So she should avoid falling head-over-boot-heels for A-list actor Zane Sutton. He's come home to his rodeo roots, but Hollywood lured him away once and just might again. Yet everything about him, from his easy charm to his concern for his young half brother, seems too genuine to resist....
Zane didn't come to Parable for love-but count on a spirited woman to change a jaded cowboy's mind. Problem is, Brylee's not convinced he's here to stay. Good thing he's determined to prove to her, kiss by kiss, that she's meant to be his bride.
