Romance

Two FBI agents have to pretend to be a married couple and share a room at a Las Vegas resort, in order to trap a blackmailer. But can they keep up the pretence or will their real feelings take over?

Special Agent Ryan Vail is expecting his usual partner, a committed wife and mother, to play the part of his bored bride with straying eyes. But a court issue detains her and Angie Wolf steps in to stop the sting being ruined. Angie and Ryan each secretly thinks the other is hot, but can't admit it to the FBI crowd. Alone together though, with the possibility of bugs and eavesdroppers, they bond and become a real team. Playing the part of a husband with a taste for gambling and pretty girls, Ryan leaves himself open to blackmail while indulging his wife with her request for a couples' therapy retreat including tantric yoga. When they give in to attraction LYING IN BED at night, it still seems safer to be professional by day. Will the bad guys take the bait, and will their relationship - professional, personal - survive?

While the idea of FBI agents taking out bad guys inspires thoughts of action adventure, this is a slow tale which is based around conversation and not drama. This has good points and bad, as the characters are never in danger and can concentrate on getting to know each other. Jo Leigh has written several romances and LYING IN BED will appeal to her many fans, as well as anyone who's curious about bugging sweeps, pinhole cameras and keystroke logging.

Get Intimate: The Workshop

Explore sensuality and true intimacy at the luxurious Color Canyon Resort.

Private assignments include sexy "homeplay" and more…

The setup was simple. To ferret out a blackmailer, FBI agent Ryan Vail and his partner are going undercover as a couple at an intimacy retreat. But when Ryan wakes to find a replacement "wife" in his bed, he knows he's in big trouble….

FBI agent Angie Wolf is on the job. Sure, there's a wicked attraction between her and Ryan, but they're professionals. Touching, kissing—it's all part of the sting. But the intimacy retreat is doing its job, because each tension-filled night in bed is blurring the line between truth and lie. Now this investigation has turned into one irresistible temptation!
