Ivy Bailey is a vampire hunter in Chicago where she is the law
and she works alone but when Christopher Bell arrives in
Chicago the two must begin to work together.
He is a vampire Enforcer how can she work with him? Yet
sometimes one cannot fight what one feels. Having defeated
Jack the Ripper so many years ago he finds himself once
again following a familiar trail to Chicago. He cannot deny
the familiarity of the evil. Once in Chicago he is also drawn
to Ivy but she refuses his offer of protection she is a
hunter after all. Will the two be able to work through their
feelings and fight together against an ancient evil or will
their differences be to big.
PERSONAL DEMON brings readers into the world of Vampires
and demons right from the beginning. I enjoyed watching Ivy
and Christopher's story unfold. While Ivy is a strong woman
she is not over the top tough as nails and Christopher is
not a stunning model of a hunk as many characters are in
books these days. The attraction between the two is strong
and watching it develop into something more was a nice read.
Ivy figures out what must be done and is strong enough to do
what she must without any second thoughts hoping that
Christopher will understand and find her in time. He must
not only find Ivy but also find his own way and just where
he goes from here. Susan Sizemore gives us a wonderful story
full of action and romance with a few twists and turns that
kept this reader entertained all the way to the end.
I am a big fan of this author and series. Although PERSONAL
DEMON
can be read as a stand alone I would advise reading the
other books in the series first to get a better
understanding of the world that it all takes place in.
Vampire Enforcer Christopher Bell is in Chicago to
investigate rumors of a revolution, but when he comes across
vampire hunter Ivy Bailey being followed through dark
streets, what he finds is a ghost from his past. Over a
century ago, Christopher fought the vicious London serial
killer Jack the Ripper—and won. But now, the Ripper’s
tainted soul is back—on the hunt once more.
