JT Drake, a journalist, is reluctantly drawn home to see what his nutty professor father is inventing this time. Between a rain shower and a lightning bolt, he becomes an active part of a refractor experiment - and becomes invisible. The neighbour's poodle is also turned invisible, in error, and the poor woman becomes convinced that the professor's work partner is a witch.

JT wants to enjoy his new situation but only to a point, for Roselyn is fast becoming important to him.
