The Dragon Kin Series focuses on the lives of many
of
the
Royal Cadwaldr dragons, fierce yet wonderfully quirky fire
breathers that inhabit the Southland Territory; sometimes
as a dragon and at other times in their human form. It is
not common for a dragon to take a human mate but
periodically there are times that a mere human catches
their fancy. However, taming a dragon is not for the weak
or feint-of-heart and it takes a special person to catch
the eye of the man and manage to hold on to the heart of
the dragon....
In G.A. Aiken's latest book, HOW TO DRIVE A DRAGON CRAZY,
ten years have passed in the Dragon Kin World and Iseabail
the Dangerous, aka Izzy, is now a powerful general in
Annwyl's army. She still possesses amazing physical
strength and beauty despite the many years of battle but
has never truly allowed anyone into her heart compliments
of her past with Éibhear the Blue. When her younger
sister
Rhianwen's magical ability gets out of hand, Izzy finds
herself face-to-face again with Éibhear as he has been
given the task to escort her back to the Southlands. She
can't deny the attraction she still feels towards Éibhear
but Izzy is no longer the sixteen year old that fell hard
for the coy blue haired dragon. When she realizes that
Rhi
needs serious help in order to rein in her powers, she
volunteers to travel to her homeland in search of her
grandmother, a Nolwenn witch that once turned her back on
both her and her mother. While Izzy has no problem
blazing
this dangerous path on her own, she can't seem to keep one
irritating blue dragon from imposing his will.
Éibhear the Contemptible, the young dragon prince formally
known as Éibhear the Blue, has maintained his distance for
ten years. Now a feared member of the Dragon Queen's
special warriors, the Mí-runach, Éibhear finds himself on
a
mission to bring Iseabail the Dangerous home to the
Southlands. Nothing could be worse for Éibhear than not
completing a mission but common sense tells him that he
should keep Izzy at a distance as she is the adopted
daughter of his brother, Briec. That plan is put to the
test as he can't seem to keep himself far from things that
involve her. Realizing that Izzy has never really been
fully out of his system, he launches a new mission to
break
into her heart...no matter how long it takes!
HOW TO DRIVE A DRAGON CRAZY is the sixth and highly
anticipated installment in the Dragon Kin series.
G.A.
Aiken takes readers, once again, into a world filled with
dragon shifters, strong and courageous heroines and
tremendous battles while tossing in lines and
circumstances
that are so funny and snarky, you will find yourself
laughing out loud frequently throughout the book. To
really
get the most out of G.A. Aiken's series, read them in her
recommended order, it definetely adds to the experience.
Overall, a truly clever read and one of the best books I
have read this year! While it's wonderful for Izzy and
Éibhear to get their HEA, I find that I will certainly
miss
the anticipation I held for them since the second book of
the series. I do certainly hope to see more of the new
dragons introduced this time around and will eagerly but
not-so-patiently wait to see if Rhianwen and her cousins
become the focus of future books. Until we meet again,
you
wonderful dragons!
Some things never go away, like vile enemies, bad ale, and annoying kin. But I thought I was finished with the one dragon I'd have done anything for: Eibhear the Blue, a big, gorgeous, blue haired beast who thinks the world belongs to him. The world and, apparently, me. So if Eibhear wants to play the caring hero and travel into the most forsaken of Gods forsaken lands to protect the one woman who doesn't need it namely me I'll let him. Because while I'm trying to fulfill a ridiculous quest for a pushy god, I'm going to draw this overconfident warlord much too close, rekindle his fires, and enjoy every minute of his delicious defeat...
