Millie has always been the more adventurous of her friends. She has always been the one to talk her other two friends into doing things. Just like she talked them into making a pact when they were younger. The pact was about marriage. They were never going to marry unless it was for love and they were still allowed to be themselves. Millie promised that she would only marry if she was in love with the man and if she was still able to do the things she has always done. Things like hunting, climbing trees and horseback riding. She just never realized that the one she was going to marry she had known most of her life.
Chase, known as Charlie to friends and family when he was younger, recently came back from war to escort his sister and her friends in their first Season. He is by no means looking for a wife of his own. He is actually looking for the person or people who murdered his father when he was younger. He is using his escort services to get the information he is seeking. Along the way, he falls in love. He falls in love with someone he has known for a long time. He is only just realizing his feelings for her. He knows once he realized those feelings he had to tell the woman and keep her safe from his investigation. He just did not realize the nature of the woman he loves. He does not realize that she will do anything to save him, just as he would do anything to save her.
Throughout A WOMAN MADE FOR PLEASURE, Chase and Millie keep denying their feelings toward each other. Millie is the first one to realize her feelings. She gets jealous when another woman wants to occupy Chase's time. The other woman even mentions she wants to marry him. Chase does not realize his feelings until about halfway through the book. He starts to notice what Millie is doing and who she is talking to. He never likes her talking to another man. So he finally gets jealous. He also knows that if Millie knows of his feelings she would be in grave danger because of his investigation.
By the end of the book, Chase confesses his intent to marry Millie, though it is very embarrassing to Millie, it gets the point across. The person or people who murdered Chase's father are arrested or dead. Chase is then allowed to marry Millie and prove to her that being a wife does not mean losing your personality and who you are.
I completely fell in love with A WOMAN MADE FOR PLEASURE. I could not stop reading it once I started. I have always loved historical romances and this book did not disappoint me. It quickly became one of my favorite books to read. Michele Sinclair is an excellent author and I cannot wait for the next books in this amazing series.
I highly recommend A WOMAN MADE FOR PLEASURE because it completely sucks you in from the very first page. You will not be disappointed in reading this book.
Drawn to a life of excitement and risk, Lady Millie Aldon
made a pact to forsake marriage. But her plans are thrown
into chaos when Chase Wentworth returns to town. The lanky
lad she remembers from childhood is now the Marquess of
Chaselton, possessing an air of mystery Millie can't resist.
As Chase moves through London's elite circles, his stealth
manner has Millie convinced he harbours a secret - one she
is determined to reveal. As Millie makes a game of observing
Chase's every move, she finds her attraction to him
unsettling. When a stolen kiss threatens to turn their
flirtation into something more powerful, she questions her
vow of freedom. But Millie has no idea of the danger she's
facing. Chase has a complicated past - and his clandestine
efforts to expose a traitor will soon provide a more
perilous - and passionate - adventure than Millie could ever
have planned.
