Being the only female of a Pyr of dragons can cause stress in your life. Dealing with it all as a teenager, can just make it worse. Zoe Sorensson has been battling the Mages who want to kill all shifters but has other worries on her mind, including her love life. She has a great guy who will give her the world if he could but there is the bad boy in the background who she cannot stop thinking about. What is a girl to do?
The next installment in the Dragon Diaries series has continued the story where it left off. Zoe is dealing with her parents' marital issues, wondering why Jared won't return messages, and trying to convince her school counselor that just because Zoe's parents are having issues doesn't mean she is going to fly off the handle. When the mages re- appear and are obviously up to no good, Zoe must get all the shifters to ban together to keep evil magic doers from whipping them off the face of the earth.
I have been a huge fan of Deborah Cooke for many years. When a new release comes across my path, I truly do a happy dance. Cooke has lived up to her previous work with BLAZING THE TRAIL. I loved how Zoe deals with the everyday issues in front of her while trying to save the world with the Pyr and fellow shifters.
The action keeps BLAZING THE TRAIL moving at a wonderful pace while the emotion makes you feel as if you are a teenage girl all over again. When I originally found out that Cooke was releasing a Young Adult Series based on the children from her Adult Series, Dragonfire, I was worried about possible timeline issues. Now I find the wait for the next release in either series difficult to stand. I cannot wait for the next installment in the turbulent life of Zoe Sorensson!
