Merrick du Loire, one of the original Templar Knights who watch over humans is on his way to honoring the promise he made to his cousin. If any of them feel the darkness in their souls taking over they must destroy that Templar, a seraph is a knights only hope of overcoming the darkness and receiving redemption. Merrick isn't too far away from the darkness with no hope of beating it until he's given the task of tutoring a seraph, the angels who are the light to a knight's darkness.
When Anne MacPherson moves into her new home she had no idea she was descended from angels nor that she is fated to bond with the knight whose tattoo match hers. Merrick kidnaps her from her home and brings her to their castle where she learns about her destiny. While she is with them, Anne intends to study and learn all about the knights in order to complete her thesis and prove her father's theories. There is no way she will let anyone know that she is Merrick's seraph. With her second sight she witnesses his death after telling him he is her mate. Anne also has a problem with his alpha tendencies and is afraid of losing her will to his.
Merrick is appalled at the independent ways of the modern woman although that doesn't stop him from being attracted to Anne. Will these two stubborn people come together before the darkness consumes him and the demons take over heaven and earth since only together can they beat them?
Any book starring Templar Knights has my vote and IMMORTAL HOPE weaves an intriguing tale about these immortals that protect mankind from all types of evil. The world building draws you in and keeps you hooked with its incredible plot twists and turns. A fresh new paranormal series featuring fully fleshed out characters, plenty of action and a simmering passion. My one small complaint is the heroine burying her head and not focusing on the big picture but concentrating more on her desires instead of the fate of heaven and earth.
Centuries ago, Templar knights defied the archangels and
unearthed the copper scroll that revealed the locations of
the gates to hell. Cursed for their forbidden act, they now
roam the earth, protecting mankind from evil. But darkness
stalks them, and battles they fight bring them ever closer
to eternal damnation. One promise remains to give them
salvationβthe return of the seraphs.
Embittered by his purpose, Merrick du Loire must honor an
ancient pact and bring peace to his cousinβs soul, releasing
him from the clutches of their enemy. When he stumbles upon
history professor Anne MacPherson, he discovers that she
possesses a sacred artifact that marks her as a seraph. Duty
demands he set aside his personal quest and locate the
knight sheβs fated to heal. As Merrick struggles with
conflicting oaths, Anne arouses buried hope and sparks
forbidden desire that challenges everything heβs sworn to
uphold.
Anne has six weeks to complete her thesis on the Knights
Templar. When Merrick takes her to the Templar stronghold,
he presents her with all she needsβand awakens a soul-deep
ache that he alone can soothe. Yet loving Merrick comes with
a price. If she admits she is destined for him, her gift of
foresight predicts his death.
