Half demon Nix de la Fuente's job as liaison between the preternaturals and the human police force helps her control her demonic tendencies along with a few other things. She is so afraid that her demon side will take over and she won't be any better than the demons that prey on others. Her investigation of the mutilation of a vampire brings her former lover Tobias Caine back into her life.

Tobias is the vampire liaison assigned to the investigation. Tobias is willing to put his personal investigation of the vampire who betrayed him and murdered his family aside to help with this case but he is determined to keep it strictly business between him and Nix no matter what. He saw what she was becoming which is why he left without a word, becoming a true demon would destroy Nix. As the murders of vampires continue and they are no closer to finding the killer, Nix and Tobias has some unfinished business and unless they get it all out into the open, they might explode from repressed desire. When they do finally find a link, Tobias is horrified at who the killer might be.

KISS OF THE VAMPIRE is an amazing debut with a fresh spin on how paranormal beings came to earth. Ms. Garner's world is peppered with strong fascinating character who come alive between the pages. The tension between the hero and heroine is fraught with just enough danger to keep readers turning the pages waiting for it to burst into fragments. When these two do come together be prepared for the flames.
