Six months after losing his friends and part of his hearing
from an enemy blast, former Army Ranger Jack Martin is now
working for the Ranger Security Company thanks to his sister
and brother-in-law who are also employed by them.
Unfortunately his first case seems to be a no brainer or so
he thought. Someone is stealing butter from the local baker
whose owner is a friend of his bosses. Jack's assignment is
to investigate the theft during the day and act as bodyguard
to owner Mariette Levine at night. The first should be a
piece of cake but the second will test his will power in
ways he can't imagine.
Mariette's store is her number one priority since her tastes
in men are lousy and always has been. One look at Jack and
her hormones jump to attention. During the day they can
ignore the tension between them but once night hits and they
are alone, it explodes into much more than they expected.
Despite everything she's been through Mariette believes
she's found her prince now if they can just find out who is
trying to destroy her livelihood then she can concentrate on
her personal life and how to convince Jack to stay.
I loved THE KEEPER. Jack and Mariette strike sparks off one
another from their very first meeting and there is an
emotional intensity to the mystery that will bring a few
tears to your eyes. All of the characters add to this
beautiful romance and I hope this is not the end of the
series.
*CONFIDENTIAL* Ranger Security Case File #1877 Name: Jackson Oak Martin, a man as strong and steady as his name implies. Case: Tracking down a Butter Bandit Agent note: This case is gonna sizzle… On the surface, it seems like an almost ridiculous assignment. A thief has been breaking into pastry chef Mariette Levine's shop. And the only thing taken? Organic butter. But one night, Mariette herself is attacked, and Ranger Security assigns agent Jackson Martin to guard their favorite chef—closely! Unfortunately, the ultra-dishy Jackson also makes Mariette's reserve melt faster than…er, butter. Which is bad. In a very, very good way. Has Mariette discovered the recipe for delectable disaster, or is this tasty bodyguard someone she'll need to keep on her menu for good?
