One of the fabled Blades of Namara, Aral was an assassin
dispensing justice as decreed by the goddess. Aral made a
name for himself when he killed the evil King who had
managed to evade much more experienced Blades. While Aral
was on a mission, the Blades were betrayed. He returns to
find the goddess and her temple have been destroyed. He is
one of the few Blades who escaped the destruction but a
death sentence hangs over his head.
Making just enough of a living as a shadow jack to keep
himself in quality liquor, Aral is hired to deliver a
message. What he discovers in attempting to finish the job
will draw him into a conspiracy that must be exposed. Aral
and his shadow, Triss, will find themselves in great danger.
Even though Aral no longer works for the goddess, he has not
lost his drive to serve justice.
Kelly McCullough builds a fascinating world with some
intriguing characters to keep a reader's interest. BROKEN
BLADE is a compelling read that was hard to put down. The
reader will find themselves drawn to Aral. Mr. McCullough
has the ability to make the even his dastardly characters
sympathetic. It will be fascinating to see where the next
book leads us.
