Romance Historical

Robin Goodfellow Buckthorn, known as Puck, has created talk all through Paris establishing himself as an original. He returns to London and blackmails two of his brother's friends into helping him establish himself with the ton. Everyone knows the Buckthorn brothers are bastards but they have the money to maintain a presence.

Regina Hackett and her cousin, Miranda, are off to their first event of the Season but Miranda convinces Regina to attend a masquerade with her. That choice will alter the lives of both girls forever. Regina is the daughter of an uncouth, wealthy merchant and the daughter of an earl.

Reginald Hackett has great plans for his daughter to marry into the aristocracy and gain him even more wealth. He controls the purse strings for his wife's entire family; paying off gambling debts and funding Miranda's season.

Attending a masquerade isn't something any acceptable young lady does. Regina blames all her actions on her grandmother Hackett. Regina meets an attractive man who attempts to seduce her. She escapes him only to find that Miranda has been kidnapped. She turns to the Puck when he offers to help her.

Together, Regina and Puck will discover that all is not what it seems with her father and that he knows where Miranda is. Reginald keeps insisting Miranda has eloped so the Runners are sent north. Even as Miranda's mother doubts Reginald's truth, she is near panic as tales of other blonde young women disappearing begin to make the news.

Puck will find himself drawn into an investigation that will expose the darkest secrets about two shipping partners. Regina is forced to face the truth of what her father does for a living as she seeks to prevent her cousin from disappearing forever.

Kasey Michaels does a wonderful job of involving the reader in this tightly plotted story. Your heart will leap at every discovery and setback as Puck and Regina reveal the truth of Miranda's location and their feeling for each other. It's impossible not to fall in love with Puck as you read A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS SIN.

SUMMARY

Meet the Blackthorn Brothers—three unrepentant scoundrels infamous for being mad, bad and perilous to love. Handsome as the devil and twice as tempting, Robin “Puck” Blackthorn lives for the pleasures of the moment. His only rule—never dally with an innocent woman. But when an encounter at a masquerade ball leaves him coveting the one woman who refuses to succumb to his charms, Puck realizes hat some rules were made to be broken… Scandalized to discover that the masked man with whom she’d shared a dance—and a forbidden embrace—is in fact the ton’s most celebrated rake, Regina Hackett vows to keep her distance. Yet when her dear friend vanishes, it is to Puck that Regina must turn. And as they embark on a dangerous journey through London’s darkest alleys, Regina will discover that beneath Puck’s roguish facade lies a man who will stop at nothing to protect her—or to convince her to take a chance on an unrepentant sinner.
