WARRIOR'S REDEMPTION begins with a young Dani, who despite her aunt's warnings leaves milk and honey out for the fairies that only she believes in. Dani is as hard-working as the rest of us are, never a moments rest as she trudges though her life. Always wondering when the stories that her mother read to her as a child would come to life and the Fae would reveal to her the true path for her life. Just as Dani is about to give up hope she finds herself transported into another world. Well an earlier world... try close to hundreds of years earlier to a time when the veil between the Fae and the human worlds was not so closed off. Dani soon learns that she is in Scotland and those swords are real; so is the kilt that adores the body of a man Dani has only dreamed of.
Elesyria's only daughter is no longer in the time that she left her in. What the Fae Queen really wants to know is if the man she left her daughter with needs to be punished or rewarded? Determined to find out what has happened to her daughter and set things straight with Malcolm MacDowylt, Elesyria takes herself, minus her magic, to the world of the Mortals to get her answers. For his reward Elesyria is willing to give Malcolm the one woman in the world that has been created for him. Unknown to Elesyria this woman was born centuries too late and it will be a struggle to get her to accept her new life, her new home, and her fate.
Malcolm MacDowylt, laird of the MacGahan clan, has had more than his share of trouble with the Fae. Beginning with the gifts that his family has inherited from their Viking ancestors and not ending with his last wife. Needless to say he is none too pleased to find that the mother of his last wife has arrived on his doorstep. If that was not bad enough he is plagued by a dream of a woman in a circle of stones. Much to his surprise he really does find a woman there. Not just any woman, but the very woman from his dreams. A woman unlike any other he has ever known. Afraid that this woman is revenge sent upon him by his mother-in- law the Fae Malcolm has sworn to protect her. This time he will get it right even if it's the last thing he ever does. Unfortunately this is not the only problem on Malcolm's head. He needs to rescue his sister from his brother, he needs to deliver the required amount of silver there as well, he needs to figure out what to do with Elesyria before she takes over everything, and he needs more than anything to figure out what this spark is between Danielle and himself before it inflames them both.
Melissa Mayhue has captivated my imagination from from the first book of her's that I read and WARRIOR'S REDEMPTION continues to meet my expectations. I was fascinated with this story from page one and the adventure continued until the happily ever after ending. What made this one so unique from the others is the added role of the Fae Queen Elesyria. I felt that she is as much a heroine in this story as the main characters. I would love to see her have her own happily ever after and her own book. Mayhue definitely provided us with a whole new facet of Elesyria here; a whole new side of her that has never been shown before. I simply loved it!
