Paranormal - Supernatural

Emma Wilkins' perfect world is taken from her the night her lover and best friend is tragically killed in an accident leaving Emma lost and alone. After almost 2 years of barely living life Emma decides to go to the only man she can trust to help her get out of the darkness she has been buried in. Emma is not sure she is ready but she is desperate to once again be part of the living but approaching Carter Bates is proving to be the most difficult thing she has ever attempted. Over the last few months Carter Bates has disappeared from Emma's life and she wants to know why, Emma needs to know why, just like she needs to find out if the feelings she has been having for her dead lovers best friend are real or just desperation. Carter Bates fell in love with his best friend's girl almost from the first moment they met but has never acted on those betraying feelings. Carter was Emma's rock after the accident taking Ben's life but after watching Emma wallow in misery and refusing to live Carter had to step back and stay away from her. It just hurt too much to see her pain for a dead man. The moment Emma steps into his bar Carter can feel her presence and he immediately knows she wants something from him. Carter never thought Emma would ask him to take her to the club he frequents, and at first he refuses. That is until he realizes that Emma's mind is set and Carter knows he doesn't want another man touching what is his. Red Garnier's THE LAST KISS is full of passion, desperation, and betrayal with a touch of the unknown. Though it is strange that the unknown is accepted by all of the characters rather easily, the extra twist is what makes Red Garnier's books such must reads.
