Christian | Inspirational Romance

The matchmakers are at it again! Maureen O'Connor wants her only grandson to find a wife. Of course, her real desire is to have great-grandchildren before her closest friends have them. Trina, Lindy, Sassy and Perty, along with Maureen, made a pact to see their grandchildren married off. So far, their grandchildren have all married each other, all except Maureen's. There doesn't seem to be anyone left who is Jamie's age.

Kirby McNeill recently retired after serving 30 years as a pastor. His granddaughter, Flannery McNeill, has invited him to Nashville for the weekend and to attend church with her. As Flannery brings Kirby into the senior adult class, Maureen notices her immediately and thinks she would be a perfect match for Jamie. She's tall, slender and beautiful, just his type. As they are introduced, she learns that Flannery is Sassy's oldest granddaughter's best friend. This could be perfect! Maureen is also quite taken with Kirby and wants to know him better.

A short while later, Flannery and Jamie O'Connor find themselves involved in the same wedding. She predetermines that he is not her type. He's drop dead gorgeous and those kind just don't work out for her. She thinks she needs someone who is a nerd, geek or a dork for a better match. Flannery is not very nice to Jamie at the wedding reception, but he is not put off by her actions and makes a fool of himself with his attempt to woo her.

As Kirby and Maureen get to know each other better, they begin to make plans to get their grandchildren together. The more Jamie and Flannery are around each other, the more they see that the real match needing to be made is not the two of them, but their grandparents. It's pretty clear they are attracted to each other. As Jamie and Flannery meet and conspire to get Kirby and Maureen together, will they find any common ground for themselves? Will Kirby and Maureen be successful with their matchmaking attempt for their grandchildren?

Kaye Dacus pens another wonderful story in her Matchmaker series with TURNABOUT'S FAIR PLAY. Her characters are endearing and their escapades will have you continuing to turn the pages to see where they lead. This is a delightful story about friendships: those from the past, the present and future hope for those friendships to continue. It's also a story about changes in our lives and opening our hearts to God's plan for us. I hope you enjoy this inspirational romance as much as I did.

SUMMARY

When Maureen O’Connor begins scheming to match her grandson Jamie with Flannery McNeill, the last thing she has in mind is a romance of her own. But when Jamie turns the tables and conspires with Flannery to bring Maureen and Flannery’s grandfather Kirby together, everyone’s best laid plans seem to go awry. Is Maureen willing to start a new relationship at this stage of her life? Will Jamie ever drop his veneer of self-sufficiency and succumb to true love?
