As a newcomer to this series, I was a little stunned by how
fantastic I thought it was! Author Donna Grant had me
captivated by the first few pages and the story just kept
getting better from there! The plot was fast-paced,
high-action, and filled with snippets of Scottish history. The
way that Grant was able to add in her Druid legends in with
the Highland story was very much appreciated by me. I
simply loved the story behind the story and all the little
extras that have me looking forward to the next book of the
series. Galen, as the hero of the story, was everything
that a manly man should be. He was strong, he was steamy,
and he was written to be real. This was a man on a mission
that really didn't appreciate the distraction before him,
but he was more than willing to be distracted. A man of
action I simply loved Galen and his hearty appetite for
things more than food! Reaghan was a perfect match for him.
Reaghan was a strong heroine, able to hold her own
with the big boys. Yet she was willing to take the
protection and shelter that was offered to her. I was very
happy with the fact that she wasn't a woman who just let
the man protect her as some heroines are. Reaghan remained
a woman of her own mind throughout the book. It was fun
watching these two fall in lust and unravel the mystery of
love together!
Reaghan has always lived in the Druid village next to Loch
Awe. This is the life she has always known, yet she is
plagued with dreams of faraway places. People she shouldn't
know, places she has never been. Reaghan has decided that
she will leave the only home she has ever known to find the
answers that seem to be locked in her mind. Until a chance
encounter with two warriors changes everything she has ever
known. Never has Reaghan felt the stirrings of longing,
never has she found a man attractive; but the warrior
standing before her has rattled her senses like no other
has. Willing to follow him to keep her people protected,
Reaghan knows that the fight has just begun. Will she
survive the darkness and find the light with Galen or will
her people be sought beyond the gates of MacLeod Castle?
Galen has traveled across country to find an ancient Druid
relic. A relic said to be so powerful that it alone can
stop an old enemy that they thought defeated, but Deirdre
had found a way back to the living. MacLeod castle and the
warriors and Druid's that occupied it were threatened
again. The existence of his people rested on Galen's
success. Yet, the beautiful woman before him has captured
his attention, she has captured his lust, and she may have
captured his soul. He is a man without family and a man who
has nothing to offer her. Galen knows that he will stop at
nothing to help Reaghan find her memories, her life, and
hopefully find her home beside him.
Sent on a dangerous mission into the shadowy world of the
Druids, Galen must find a powerful ancient relic to defeat
the enemies of Castle MacLeod. But what he discovers is far
more powerful—and far more dangerous. A Druid lass whose
beauty is as spellbinding as any magic…
Reaghan is the most enchanting woman Galen has even met—and
the most enigmatic. She alone is immune to his mind-reading
gifts. He alone makes her feel safe and secure. But Reaghan
holds a secret power deep inside her that could destroy them
both. And if Galen hopes to hold this captivating woman in
his arms every night, he must defeat the darkness that draws
closer around her every day….
