Fantasy

Agent Bernadette Callahan was used to jetting off at the last minute when Section, a U.S. Intelligence agency, sent her off on assignment. But when Bernadette is sent to Brazil to investigate the death of international pop star, Gabriela Zuada, the special agent questions why the U.S. government is interested in the death of a Christian pop singer. The scene of the crime not only baffles the local police, but Bernadette can find no explanation for what she finds. The singer's body was burned beyond recognition, however, the room she was found in shows no sign of a fire, or even the smell of gasoline. Callahan's immediate reaction was that the singer was murdered, but the local police seem to think Gabriela was the victim of something supernatural. The appearance of a Satanic symbol near where Gabriela was found lead Callahan to believe she was murdered by a serial killer with an interest in the occult.

Callahan gets some help from Professor Sebastian "Batty" LaLaurie, an eccentric professor of biblical studies from Louisiana. Batty's over-the-top lectures and tendency to arrive at work intoxicated have nearly cost him his job on more than one occasion. Batty has been drinking his troubles away since his wife, Rebecca, died in a horrible fire. But Batty knows the fire was no accident. He knows exactly who killed her, or better yet what killed her -- demons.

After Batty is involved in a fight outside a local bar he is abducted and awakens in Brazil at the hands of Agent Callahan. Neither Batty nor Bernadette seem to know why the government would want a professor involved in the investigation of Gabriela Zuada's death, but after Batty visits the scene of the crime and the home of the singer, he knows why the singer was murdered. Gabriela's home reveals a profound obsession with poet John Milton's Paradise Lost, an epic poem about Lucifer's fall from grace. When Batty finds a religious medal he always ascribed to legend, he realizes the singer was a member of the Custodes Sacri, a group of guardians assigned to protect an individual who holds to power to save mankind from Lucifer.

Lucifer's fallen angels are on earth and ready for the battle. In order to stop the demons from opening the seven gates of hell, which will free Lucifer, they must find the person the Custodes Sacri are protecting. Batty believes the identity of the person is revealed in the original copy of John Milton's Paradise Lost, but the original copy has been lost through the centuries. Batty and Callahan must find the book in order to save humanity from becoming slaves to Lucifer and his demons.

Dan Brown has competition! Robert Browne has written an explosive novel that is worthy of playing out on the big screen. THE PARADISE PROPHECY is a novel about the ultimate battle between good and evil. But it reads more like a Dan Brown novel as Batty and Bernadette attempt to decode Paradise Lost while the clock is ticking for humanity. Robert Browne has included various characters related to Lucifer in Milton's Paradise Lost to help Lucifer as his demons prepare for the final battle against their creator. God, Lucifer, angels, demons, and a poet who has been dead for over four hundred years make for one "hell" of a novel!

SUMMARY

When God cast the archangel Satan into Hell, ending the War in Heaven, peace prevailed on Earth. Until the fallen angels took revenge in the Garden of Eden. Ever since, mankind has been in a struggle between good and evil, paradise and apocalypse: the fall of Rome, the Crusades, world wars, nuclear proliferation, the Middle East crisis. The War in Heaven never really ended—it just changed venues. For millennia, God’s angels have been fighting Satan’s demons on Earth, all in hopes of bringing about Satan’s greatest ambition—the apocalypse.

And he has never been closer to his goal than right now.

Agent Bernadette Callahan is a talented investigator at a shadowy government organization known only as Section, on the trail of a serial killer with nearly supernatural abilities. Sebastian “Batty” LaLaurie is a religious historian who knows far too much about the other side—and that hard-earned knowledge is exactly what Callahan needs. This unlikely duo pairs up for a race across the globe, decoding clues left in ancient texts from the Bible to Paradise Lost and beyond. In the process they stumble upon a vast conspiracy—one beyond the scope of mankind’s darkest imagination.
