Romance Paranormal

Having read the previous series by this author I was excited to see a new book and series come out. DEVIL WITHOUT A CAUSE by Teri Garey is a good read. This author gives the reader a new take on the Devil and his antics. In this story we meet a mother who will do anything to save her child even if that means going to the Devil for help. In return Faith must steal for the Devil a ring worn by the famous rock star Finn Payne but once they meet the sparks fly. Faith and Finn must try to not only save Nathan but themselves as well.

I enjoyed the author's take on the Devil in this book. We see him in a different light. While he is still evil we see that he does have a heart. Samael is a man that has gone through so much and, as we say, is only human and does help those he cares about in his own way. He knows what it is to love and he shows that with Finn and Faith. I enjoyed watching the relationship between Faith and Finn develop. Finn is a wonderful man who comes to care more for others than himself as we see with his final act of love. The sparks fly between the two right from the start and only burn hotter as they spend more time together. Nathan is a nice addition to the story as well. I usually do not read many stories with children in them but Nathan brings a lot to this book. I enjoyed seeing all of the different relationships in this book, from Faith and Finn to the many ones Samael has. The love that Faith and Finn have was a good read but I enjoyed learning about Samael much more and hope that we get more books with him.

This book is a great introduction to a new series that I hope we will see many books from. It is in a way a spin off from the first series so it is better if you read the author's other books to get an understanding of this story. I cannot wait for book two in this series to see what happens with Samael next.

SUMMARY

Idle hands are the Devil's workshop...

Temptation and seduction are the tricks of the Devil's trade, and when offered the chance to regain his wings by playing guardian angel, he's hell-bent on doing things his way...

Faith McFarland is in need of a miracle. So desperate to save her sick child, she's willing to make a deal with the Devil: steal a ring worn by Finn Payne, the bad-boy rockstar who long ago sold his soul for rock 'n roll. Temptation and seduction become necessary evils, yet Faith's salvation means Finn's damnation . . . because the ring is all that stands between him and Hell. Falling in love was never part of the bargain, but now that they've tasted heaven in each other's arms, can they convince the Devil to give up his due?
