Isabel has been forced to prostitute herself to save her younger sister from the life she now leads. Her stepfather uses her to sleep with men of power so that he can gain power over them. He is mad to control the world around him.

Duncan has a mysterious ability to heal others. It peaks at the sign of the full moon. He is called to a healing and is intrigued by the young woman he sees bathing in a cold loch. When he learns more about her, he asks to meet her. His encounter with her leaves him feeling more powerful than he ever has before. His sessions healing others leave him numb. It's as if nothing can touch him in any significant way. Isabel returns him to a normal state faster than ever.

Duncan knows that he will die soon but he resolves to ease Isabel's life so he barters for her with her stepfather. As he lives with Isabel he learns more about her devotion to her younger sister and the abuse she has lived with these many years. In an attempt to free her from her stepfather, he will set a plan in motion. A plan which is complicated and time sensitive; time which he isn't sure he will have to accomplish what needs to be done.

The third in a trilogy written for the Kensington Brava line, this story will lead the reader into some uncomfortable places. Ms. Brisbin deals with the difficulties of the story gracefully making the reader very sympathetic to Isabel and her predicament. Because it was written for the Brava line, it is strongly erotic. The story was intriguing and mystical.
