The second in Colleen Gleason's stunning new series
Draculia, THE VAMPIRE DIMITRI was just as powerful as Voss.
I absolutely love how Gleason is able to intermingle the
mystery, the intrigue, the plot lines, and the strengths of
her characters throughout this series. Gleason first gave
readers a look at Dimitri in The Vampire Voss as the
strangely quiet appointed guardian to sisters Maia and
Angelica. Now readers have a chance to connect with Dimitri
and Maia as their stories are told from a completely new
angle. The plot continues to thicken without leaving
anything out of Dimitri's story. It seems that Gleason's
characters keep rising off the pages to emerge with a whole
new depth. I am hooked.
The Earl of Corvindale is known for his reclusive habits.
Never one to mingle with society, Dimitri finds that the
solitude of his library and his research fulfills his every
need. When his friend Chas goes missing with a Vampire
Lord's sister, Dimitri knows that his peaceful quiet life is
about to be turned upside down. Dimitri had agreed, albeit
grudgingly, to take on guardianship of Chas's two sisters if
ever he disappeared. When a demanding note arrives from
one of them, he knows that he cannot put off the inevitable
any longer. Suddenly, Dimitri finds his life overrun by
balls, giggles, and (more particularly) one enraging female.
Maia Woodmore has to be the most demanding, the most
infuriating woman Dimitri has ever known. Not only has she
made her demands known, she has left a trail of her
presence everywhere Dimitri seems to go. She has even
rearranged the chaos that was his library! This one woman
has turned his life upside down, invaded his privacy, and
quite simply her very being seems to be invading the holes
in his soul.
Maia Woodmore has always been the good girl. She has kept
order to their house, their lives, and maintained the
reputations of her family. The disappearance of her brother
has left her at the mercy of a despicable man, the Earl of
Corvindale. The Earl has ignored her at every turn, appears
to be uninterested in her concerns, and he even threw her
person outside a window wrapped up in drapes. Chas's return
cannot come soon enough for Maia to escape this
exasperating man. Ignoring the Earl's warnings, Maia
discovers that the danger waiting outside the Earl's door
is very real. With her sister kidnapped by vampires and the
Earl as uncooperative as ever, nothing can stop Maia from
tagging along, even if the Earl doesn't know about it. When
one mishap simply leads to another, Maia finds that she has
led herself to danger's door. Knowing that his life may be
in her hands, Maia finds that she will stop at nothing to
save the one man she suddenly cannot live without.
Sizzling with drama, non-stop action, twists and turns, and
steamy romance, THE VAMPIRE DIMITRI is one fantastic journey
that readers simply should not miss!
Regency London loves a society wedding— even if there are vampires on the guest list. Dimitri, also known as the Earl of Corvindale, should be delighted that the headstrong Maia Woodmore is getting married. His mortal ward and houseguest has annoyed—and bewitched—the Dracule nobleman too long, and denying his animal cravings grows more excruciating by the day. Miss Woodmore’s family has a rather…complicated history with the immortals and she herself possesses a keen sensibility far beyond mere women’s intuition. Marriage will give her safety, respectability and everything else a proper young lady could wish for. Everything, that is, except passion. In the looming battle between Dracule factions, all pretenses will shatter as Maia and Dimitri come together in an unholy union of danger, desperation and fiercest desire.
