Romance Paranormal

As with all the other Dirk and Steele books, we meet a couple who are more than what we would call normal. Blue has been made to find a brother, the legitimate son of his wealthy father. On his quest, he comes across a woman who draws him to her like no other. Iris is a woman who has hidden herself in a Las Vegas circus show. Somehow Blue and Iris must make things work between them as they fight to stay alive. Will Blue find his brother and on whose side will he be?

EYE OF HEAVEN is a reissue of a great installment in the Dirk and Steele Agency series. I am always excited to see a book come out in this series, and I was not disappointed with this one. Blue is a complex man who goes through so much in this story, mentally and physically. Not only does he deal with the idea of loosing a parent but also finding a brother. That in itself is enough for one person but Blue has also found Iris, his true love. Iris is a strong woman who must take care of herself and learn to love not only Blue but herself as well. As the two try to figure out what is between them, they must deal with all the rest that is going on. Along with Daniel, they must keep each other safe and find a way back home and to the Dirk and Steele Agency.

Marjorie M. Liu weaves a magical story full of many twists and turns. This story has many small subplots that join together and bring the main storyline together in a beautiful way. Not only do we get Blue and Iris's story but we also get to revisit characters from previous books. I love the way that each new couple always gets some kind of help from other members of the agency and this couple is no different. The friendships that develop are strong and prove that there are those that can always be counted on. I enjoyed watching the bonds of trust and love develop in this book and cannot wait to see whose story will be told next.

SUMMARY

Like every member of the Dirk & Steele Agency, Blue Perrineau is far from "normal"—and he believes in the organization's creed: Protect the innocent in secrecy. Now an obligation to the family that rejected him is leading Blue into the light and shadow of Sin City . . . and to a remarkable woman, beautiful, desirable, and untamed. Iris is a headliner in Vegas, dazzling crowds with her feral sensuality and her uncanny affinity for dangerous beasts. But there is a darkness in her world that she never knew existed, and a champion has appeared to protect her—a man charged with electricity, who guards a secret as strange and powerful as her own. And every secret is a liability when darkest evil exists that follows no rule under heaven. Yet with passion and love sustaining them, together Blue and Iris might yet live to see the dawn.
