Still reeling from the effects from her last kidnapping, Raine Benares has decided to seek to destroy the men who would bind her by using her family's criminal endeavors. Only there is much more at stake than Raine knows.

Raine was happy with her small amount of magic and her job as a seeker. Since she bonded with the Sagred, a soul stealing jewel, her magic is greater than even the best wizards the world has to offer. The goblin Sarad Nukpana is still trying to retrieve the stone. As if that isn't enough, she has elves who hate her wanting to control the stone through her. They want to destroy the goblin's.

Only Mychael and Tam can keep her safe, when she lets them. With Mychael's approval, Raine and her cousin, Mago, have planned a con which will take the money used to fund the plot away from the conspirators. Now, she has her ex- fiancé, trying to assassinate the goblin she'd like to see take the throne. It's always hard for goblins and elves to work together but having a Benares involved will make it even harder.

Action packed and fast-paced, this was a fabulous read. There is never a dull moment with Raine, Mychael, and her family involved in trying to prevent a conspiracy and save her life.
