April Ortiz is doing all she can to support her young daughter, Jenny, by working as a waitress and picking up as many shifts as possible. April's mom helps with the late night day-care but lately her mom's addictions and lack of responsibility are putting Jenny in danger. Before April can take care of the home situation, she must deal with the tragedy of a co-worker found raped and murdered. The cops asking the staff question is making everyone nervous so, in a desperate attempt to help find a murderer, April slips the handsome Officer Young the name of a gang member; an action that can endanger April and her family. The woman was a waitress at a popular local night club which is where the investigation starts, putting April directly in Noah's path. The moment Noah see April, he becomes fascinated with her and unable to take his eyes off her. Noah is aware of the policy of dating interviewees but even after finding out she has ties to the local gangs, Noah is sure he can solve a murder and keep the girl.
