College roommates Maddy, Christine and Amy were thrilled
when their fourth roommate, Jane, made it big as the author
of How to Have A Perfect Life, until they realized she used
them in her book as examples of women who let fear run
their lives. Determined to prove Jane wrong, they
challenged each other to overcome one fear, and they had a
year to do it. Maddy and Christine have met their
challenges, with great results, so now it's Amy's turn.
Amy's fear is of getting lost even though she dreams about
seeing the world. To meet her challenge, she books herself
a job as a traveling nanny and sets off on a cruise to the
Caribbean. When Amy gets fired, and then lost on St. Barts,
her very worst nightmare has come true. Stranded with only
the clothes on her back, Amy has to decide if she's going
to tuck in her tail and run home, or stay and find a way
out of her predicament. Determined not to fail herself, or
her friends, Amy decides to find a temporary job. Just her
luck, the reclusive new resident of the island is looking
for a housekeeper.
Byron Parks, the Movie Midas, has grown weary of Hollywood,
of the false camaraderie, the cynicism, the disloyalty.
Needing to take a longer look at his life, at his
relationships and his future, Byron buys himself an old run-
down fort on a tropical island and hides away. He creates
two false personas for himself --mysterious recluse Guy
Gaspar and flamboyant Frenchman Lance Beaufort.
When Amy comes to work, it's Beaufort she meets first. He's
sexy and flirtatious and totally flusters her. She isn't
used to male attention, even if it is merely friendly. Amy
is much more comfortable with Guy, their only contact
through the video monitor in his room and an intercom. She
finds herself confiding in him, feeling that he's a kindred
spirit, having been led to believe that he's hideously
disfigured. Amy has had a weight problem most of her life,
and although she's recently lost weight, she still sees
herself as a fat person. Byron looks at Amy and sees that
she has so much potential and decides that "Beaufort"
should help her.
While attracted to Beaufort, Amy falls in love with Gaspar.
What will happen when Amy discovers that not only are
Gaspar and Beaufort the same man, but that they're also the
cynical Byron Parks, a bored Hollywood player so unlike the
man she believes she fell in love with? Will she be able to
overcome her biggest fear of all, and let love change her
life?
Once again, Julie Ortolon draws you into a
wonderfully fun story with characters you can relate to and
enjoy. I highly recommend TOO PERFECT, the perfect ending
to this trilogy, which include ALMOST PERFECT and JUST
PERFECT. You won't want to put any of them down.
A Wandering Duckling
Defying the terrible sense of direction that's kept her
form traveling, Amy ships out as a nanny on a Caribbean
cruise--and promptly gets lost when they stop on St.
Bart's. Now she's stranded without any money--or even a
toothbrush!
A Two-Faced Beast
Locals say that Gaspar, owner of the island's crumbling
fortress, is a hideous recluse. They call him La Bête, "The
Beast." But when Amy applies for a job at the fort, she
meets only his charming assistant, Beaufort. In truth, the
two are the same man--billionaire Byron Parks, who's
desperately seeking privacy and peace.
A Perfect Fairy Tale?
Amy aches for the miserable man secluded in the fortress
tower. Through e-mail, they begin an imaginative exchange
of romantic fantasies. Byron is hopelessly smitten with his
sexy storyteller--but will his real-life make-believe ruin
their happy ending?
