Tilda writes articles for entertainment magazines. Her forte is locating actors who played in old TV series. She has an antagonistic relationship with the editor of Entertain Me!, one of the many magazines for which she freelances.
Right now, Tilda is interviewing John Laryea. He was a character on an old series called The Blastoffs. John is the only actor from the show who has continued his career. He is about to play the lead role in a new movie based on a comic book. Fans of the comic book are already deriding the movie.
Tilda is hired by the movies producers to discover the identity of the writer of the comic books. As she starts the investigation, she witnesses a murder. The man arrested is the limo driver, Pete Ellis. Pete also had a bit part on The Blastoffs.
Pete convinces Tilda of his innocence and she is drawn into discovering the real identity of the killer. Tilda's work will put her in contact with an old boyfriend who she hasn't quite forgotten. She will find danger is the last place she would have expected as she works to save Pete from prison.
I started this series from the beginning and it is one I have enjoyed immensely. Tilda lives a rather unique life as a freelance journalist who can use the same material written into different articles for different magazines. Her best friends are a gay man who works at Entertain Me and his partner. The reader follows her as she works to find character actors who have disappeared from public view and the killers she encounters along the way.
Before becoming an action film star, John Laryea appeared on
The Blastoffs, a Saturday morning kid's show about a rock
band in space. His former co-star, Pete Ellis, now drives a
limo for a living. So when someone tries to run Laryea over,
Ellis becomes the prime suspect-and it's up to Tilda to
clear his name.
