Colonel Vejhon Mach has been taken from his planet, drugged, shackled and then auctioned off as a slave. The drugged and shackled part is necessary since Vejhon will not go down without a fight, which awards him long spells in very small cells. As Vejhon comes out of his drugged haze, he takes in his new surroundings to see rich furnishings; a change that can only mean he now has a new owner. Naked and chained to the wall, his fury at being a slave brings erupts as his new owner attempts to keep him calm.

As head of her family, Hanna Drakoulous is responsible for everyone in her care. Even though it is part of life on her planet to have slaves, Hanna only has one to care for until now. Her slave Najir claims to have purchased a new slave for her; one with all the right assets to help Hanna with the future of her family. Unfortunately, Vejhon is a warrior and not taking well to captivity. Hanna is forced to demonstrate to Vejhon that being part of her family is much better than if purchased by another. Hanna has waited too long to find the perfect slave to fail now.

THE BID is a sensual, action-packed story (series) with surprises at every turn. A very enjoyable read.
