Armand Argeneau lives a simple life as a farmer and a vampire in a small rural area in Canada. He leaves the enforcing to his brothers and sons who are tracking down rogue vamps. His brother Lucian calls a meeting to ask for a favor; one of Lucian's enforcers is being targeted by an enemy and needs a place to hide out while the threat is being eliminated. Armand is happy to help, especially when he gets a look at the tall and sexy vamp, Eshe d'Aureus, riding up on a tricked-out motorcycle. The only problem he has is that neither of them can read the other, so they are possibly life mates. With all of Armand's wives and his first life mate dying tragically, he wants nothing to do with another mate; his curse can effect Eshe, as well.
Lucian Argeneau is sending Eshe to his brother Armand to investigate the tragic deaths of his wives. The information she gathers can save Armand's son, Nicholas, from being executed by the council for murdering a mortal woman. Lucian doesn't want Armand to know the real reason Eshe is staying with him, but the situation becomes complicated as Eshe and Armand realize they are possible life mates. The attraction is strong and Eshe is ready for another life mate, only Armand is doing his best to deny their connection. Unfortunately, Eshe still has a job to do and begins asking questions of all the family members still living near Armand. As Eshe and Armand figure out what they are together, the more danger that comes their way because of the past.
BORN TO BITE is another fascinating and exciting story in the Argeneau novels with a dark and brooding hero and a kick-ass heroine. Lynsay Sands is always a pleasure to read.
Legend has it that Armand Argeneau is a killer in the
bedroom . . .
But with all three of his late wives meeting unfortunate
and untimely ends, is this sexy immortal a lover or a
murderer? That's what Eshe d'Aureus intends to find out.
As an enforcer, it's her job to bring rogue vampires to
justice, even if the rogue in question makes her blood
race red hot.
Armand knew she was trouble the moment Eshe roared into
town on her motorcycle, clad in tight black leather. She
claims she's hiding from dangerous fiends, though he
suspects something more. But after three wives who've all
had trouble remaining, well, undead, Armand is reluctant
to open his heart again. Then strange accidents start to
happen, each deadlier than the last, and Armand realizes
he may not have much time to prove he's a lover, not a
slayer.
