Empath Maggie O'Neill has decided to take her relationship
with Marcus Quinn to the next level when she's called to
the hospital. Her sister Meg has gone into labor
unexpectedly and Maggie's family needs her -- immediately.
Maggie and Marcus head to the hospital to await the arrival
of the newest family member. While they're waiting,
Maggie's grandpa does a quick disappearing act, and Maggie
and Marcus volunteer to search for him. Grandpa G is
quickly located in the cafeteria.
While Marcus wheels Grandpa G back to the maternity floor,
Maggie stocks up on munchies to see them through their
wait. Heading back to the waiting room, Maggie's elevator
gets stuck, and while she waits for the power (and lights)
to come back on, she overhears what may be a murder plot.
She doesn't know if it's related to the earlier death of a
local teenager, or of something yet to happen, and all too
soon there's more than one death to investigate and
determine how it all relates to the mini baby-boom in town.
It will take all of Maggie's intuitive abilities, and a
little bit of luck to figure out what's going on in Stony
Mill.
A WITCH IN TIME is the latest of the Bewitching mystery
series by Madelyn Alt. This story is a bit light of
the mystery element; it's there, but doesn't seem to be the
forefront of the story. Instead, the focus is more on
Maggie's life, as a sort of building block to things to
come. Things in Stony Mill aren't normal, the spirit world
is restless and beginning to manifest in strange ways in
this sleepy little town. Maggie and her group of talented
friends may be all that stands between the inhabitants of
Stony Mill and chaos. A WITCH IN TIME both entertains and
deepens the reader's knowledge of the inhabitants of the
town, many of who will be impacted when things in town spin
out of control. It will be interesting to see how things
shape up in future visits to Maggie's world.

saying, but Maggie knows malice when she hears it. The next

eye, but Maggie knows something sinister is haunting the
hospital. Now she'll need help if she's going to tie two
