Upset with her love life Felicity tries an online dating site only to find that she is unmatchable. Following her Aunts advice Felicity decides to use her Tarot cards. Little does she know what will befall her. The next thing Felicity knows she has traveled back into time to the year 1658 to a man named Will Rollo. Will begins to have feelings for Felicity but he must not deviate from his own life right now and now is not the time for him to fall in love. Can he return Felicity to her own time without falling in love? Will Felicity go back to her own time and loose her chance at love?

Felicity may have been thrown back in time and is scared but she still takes things as they are and doesn't back down. Will is a great hero he may not be one hundred percent healthy but he is still a man with a passion and a strong will to fight. The interaction between these two was a great read. The emotion that Felicity has for Will was great and has the reader hoping along with Will that she could love him and sees him not his injury.

LORD OF THE HIGHLANDS is an engaging read. Although it is part of a series I had no problem with reading it not once was I lost or confused. I can say that I will be looking for the others in this series, especially after meeting Lily in this story. It is very interesting how this author incorporates real life history and people in her stories and makes them her own. Veronica Wolff transports the reader into a wondrous world of chivalry and adventure. If you enjoy time travel and finding true love this is a book that you should not miss.
