In the book MR. SHIVERS the reader follows Mr. Connelly on
his adventures as he follows the scared man. Connelly looks
for the scared man so that he can avenge his daughter's
untimely murder. Along the way he meets many different
people and some that are looking for the scared man as
well. They begin to band together and travel as vagrants
and ride the rails or walk getting what they can by trade.
It seems that the scared man has many a victim and has left
a long trail behind him of death and destruction. We are
along for the ride as they travel through many a town and
city finding clues and even people working for the scared
man himself. How far will Mr. Connelly go to find the
scared man and just what will he do if he ever finds the
man? Will the others follow him or will they abandon their
quest for the scared man?
This book takes the reader on a strange trip through the
Americas in its time of need during the Great Depression.
With many characters that have all been affected in some
horrible way by the scared man and his gruesome acts.
