Roxy Abruzzo carries an abundance of baggage. Among her
problems, she is the grandniece of a Pittsburg Mafia boss
who continually tries to lure Roxy into the family
business. She struggles keeping her architectural-salvage
company afloat in order to support herself and teenage
daughter. In order to survive in the business, Roxy does
not mind bending the law when it suits her purpose. Her
current predicament is a testament to the trouble the touch
of larceny in her soul can bring her.
While salvaging items from the remains of wealthy Hyde
estate, a murder is committed. Roxy's friendship with the
victim and her close proximity to the murder places her on
the suspect list. Her illegal removal of a statue makes
honesty to the police difficult. Before Roxy knows it,
someone is taking shots at her. Using her wide range of
acquaintances and bizarre friends, Roxy begins poking into
the Hyde family and their complicated family dynamics.
Another murder occurs and Roxy finds herself knee-deep in
trouble.
Ms. Martin's new series is smart and sexy with a terrific
cast of quirky characters. Roxy proves an unconventional
heroine with her array of sexual partners and horror of
commitment. The deft plotting keeps readers guessing to the
very end the identity of the killer.
