A wonderful story of a half American and half Japanese man
named Takai, also known as Joe who has lost a part of
himself since his mother's death at the age seven. Takai
is
home alone and miserable on the anniversary of his mother's
death. A day that is as heartbreaking as the day she
died.
Having fuzzy thoughts, Takai wakes up the next morning to
find a petite Japanese woman lying naked next to him in his
bed. With vague memories of their meeting or how she ended
there, Takai meets Sakura.
Sakura, who is a kitsune, also known as a Japanese fox
spirit, is sent by Inari to help Takai. Sakura's mission is
to bring back the Japanese part of Takai that he hides deep
inside. Sakura finds that not only is she helping Takai
find himself, but also that she is falling in love with
him.
Sakura finds herself wanting to give up everything just to
have a life with Takai in the human world. The questions
is......does Takai want the same thing?
Lila Dubois creates two very unique characters that keep
you
turning the page to see what lies ahead for them. Lila
writing will have you engrossed from the beginning. She
brings in the Japanese folklore and ties it in with their
traditions.
On the anniversary of Joe’s mother’s death he breaks his own
rules and has a one night stand with an exotic stranger.
Sakura is unlike any woman Joe’s ever met: smart, beautiful,
and very quirky. That’s because Sakura isn’t like any woman
he’s know before--she’s not human. Sakura’s a kitsune, a
mystical Japanese fox who can take on the form of a woman,
on a mission: help Joe discover his Japanese heritage and
make peace with his past. They didn’t say anything about
falling in love with him…
