Romance Paranormal

In BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HEART PLACE, Daphne Forbes is trying to get away from her druid father and mother who are making her life miserable with their constant warring. She has no druid powers, and just wants to have a normal life as a CPA somewhere other than where they are. Spying on her parents in a sacred grove, she accidentally catches a cornerstone that was tossed. Minutes after the catch, Daphne turns into a cat. It seems the cornerstone contained Puca powers, and now, whenever emotional, she turns into an animal, and has no idea how to turn herself back.

Tremayne is the guardian of the stone, and he advises Daphne she needs to stay with him until she can control her powers. She agrees, with reservations. She just wants to start her new job in California and leave this mess alone. Tremayne was a nature sprit, summoned by an ancient druid two thousand years before to cage the magical half of a condemned puca inside a sarcen stone, and his job now is to see that if Daphne goes insane with the powers she now holds, she will be eliminated. When Tremayne goes to sleep, she leaves and heads to the airport so she can start her new life, but she is mugged in the airport parking lot. Under stress, she turns into a goat and scares the muggers off, and in a fit of rage, tears up her car tires and luggage. When Tremayne discovers her, he convinces her that she really needs to get the puca powers under control before she takes off again. The longer she and Tremayne are together, the more attracted they are to each other. What follows is a hilarious tale of love and magic that is so very entertaining that I couldn't put the book down until it was finished.

SUMMARY

ROCKED

Daphne Forbes always knew the world was an odd place. Unlike most CPAs, she grew up the daughter of a druid. Unlike her father, she eschewed the supernatural. But magic was coming to trip her up. In the form of an enchanted cornerstone, it was set to knock Daphne's socks off--or at least one of her shoes--and the rest of her clothes were soon to follow.

Magic filled Daphne, empowered her, shifted her shape and raged wild as a summer storm. Enter Tremayne. Whether the tormented newcomer was truly her guardian or something more sinister, one thing he wanted was clear. Daphne wanted him, too. She had spent her whole life with control but little power; this was just the opposite. She was suddenly between a magic stone and...someplace harder. And we're not (just) talking about Tremayne's abs.
