Romance Historical

Upon the arrival of the Romans to the Egyptian shore, Cleopatra is forced to any early demise. Now the Romans will not be satisfied until all of her blood relatives suffer the same fate. The Tausrat family was forced to flee or face death at the hands of the Romans. They know it is only a matter of time before they can avenge the wrongs the Romans have done to their relatives. Julian Tausrat, son of Cleopatra's half sister and a Badari Prince, is now ready to return to Egypt and take his place among his people. He is needed to unite the Badari as one tribe and bring an end to the rumors of a new leader rising. However, he cannot forget the wrongs done to his family, and that the Romans search for him still. He also remembers the young girl that was loyal to him, and wonders about her fate. Can he see to his mission to reunite his tribe? Will he allow his feeling for a young woman to block the path that he must follow? Can he even trust her? Sabinah is an Egyptian to the core and despises the Romans with a passion. Unfortunately her stepmother and stepsister have no such qualms and will do anything to secure their future. They lure the Romans with their bodies, and live off the spoils that they receive. Sabinah is encouraged to do the same as the Roman leader shows an interest in her. When she learns that Julian has returned, she plots behind everyone's back to help him. Will Julian believe her? Will she escape the advances of the Roman who is determined to have her? What exactly does fate have in store for not only for her but also for Egypt itself? Constance O'Banyon has quite a knack for transporting you to ancient Egypt. Her characters and descriptions are so vividly lifelike that you very easily imagine yourself in the story. Julian is a strong man determined to prove himself. Sabinah is a spirited woman who will risk anything to restore Egypt to its former glory. The mistrust and the passion between them provide an uneasy tension that slowly boils over, and when it does you are in for an enjoyable ride. THE DESERT PRINCE mixes a bit of romance, with a bit of history, with a bit of action to create a masterpiece. Ms. O'Banyon is an author that knows how to hook a reader and keep them riveted. I look forward to her next historical romance.

SUMMARY

Egypt had finally fallen under the mighty fist of Rome. Queen Cleopatra lay entombed in the arms of her lover, and a false emperor ascended to the throne.… Young Julian Tausrat, Prince of the Badari and blood kin to the late Queen, was forced to flee Egypt. On the island of Bal Forea, he trained in the ways of the warrior and waited for the day when he could return to claim the desert land that was his birthright and the girl who had refused to betray him. The Sabinah he found was no longer the child who had shadowed his footsteps, nor the slender young woman whose untutored kisses had awakened his own desire. This Sabinah held a secret that could free Egypt from Roman tyranny…or sentence Julian and his people to death. Only by trusting in her courage and his own strength could the Desert Prince save both the people he was destined to rule and the woman he was fated to love.
