Cat Crawfield's career with the government may be over. A long-time vampire hunter, the half-human, half-vampire Cat now has a reputation with the undead, and her easily recognizable red hair and green eyes are hard to disguise. When her cover is blown yet again, her team turns to a rogue captive to assist in their operations. When that vampire takes the opportunity to escape, killing one of the team members in the process, it's time to step back and reassess the job.
The team has more to worry about than their government job when a killer from Bones' past reappears with vengeance on her mind. Determined to kill Cat's lover once and for all, Patra unleashes a powerful evil that Cat and Bones have never encountered. It's going to take the combined efforts of their undead team, Bones' grand sire and a few powerful vamps from history to battle this evil, and even then there's no guarantee of anyone getting out alive.
AT GRAVE'S END by Jeaniene Frost is the best of the Night Huntress series to-date! Cat and Bones' relationship is darkly romantic, sensual and hot. Their friends are an eclectic collection of dead and undead, steadfast and brave. The world created by Ms. Frost is believable, multifaceted and fully realized with laws and events both creative and believable. A couple of historical figures in this story add an additional dimension to the entertainment value for readers. The evil unleashed on Bones, and the ultimate battle for survival, is chilling in its intensity. I could not put this one down!
As if that wasn't enough, a
woman from Bones's past is determined to bury him once and
for all. Caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful vamp, yet
determined to help Bones stop a lethal magic from being
unleashed, Cat's about to learn the true meaning of bad
blood. And the tricks she's learned as a special agent
won't help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire
instincts in order to save herselfโand Bonesโfrom a fate
worse than the grave.
