Suspense | Thriller Crime

Assistant Attorney General Marianne Melone, along with her three best friends, leaves an off-limits mob bar in the wee hours of the morning and sees an SUV barreling down the road. Almost in front of them, a bloody body is tossed from the car. They leave the crime scene by justifying that they can offer no pertinent information. Marianne's powerful boss discovers her deception and fires her. A devastated Marianne is comforted by her friends as they promise to work toward her reinstatement.

Left on her own, Marianne uncovers a complicated trail of drugs, sex and murder that leads to a very distinguished private college. The dean offers her a job as the college attempts to thwart the investigation. Marianne does a balancing act as she's caught between two powerful men with their own agendas to use her as a pawn. Unable to trust anyone, even a hunky ex-cop who's shrouded in mystery, Marianne races to find the killer before he strikes again.

Debut author Celeste Marsella writes a thriller that merges Sex n the City with James Patterson's Murder Club in a sexy new series. With Ms. Marsella's background as an attorney in criminal law, she portrays realistic scenarios with several plotlines that keep readers guessing who the killer is until the final climatic end.

just their careers that are in dangerβ€”it’s their
lives. It’s after midnight when a young coed’s body
is thrown from a carβ€”right before their eyes. When their
boss finds out that their presence at the scene might
jeopardize the prosecution, Marianna takes the fall,
exiled to a job inside an ivy-walled private collegeβ€”where
the murdered girl had been a student. Suddenly Marianna is
in the eye of the storm alone as a vicious killer strikes
again…and again. With no one to trust on either side of
the law except themselves and a secretive ex-cop,
