Julia Lowell is a marketing executive who has been hired by Trent Tyler to breathe new life into his hotel, Tempest West. They met when her best friend married his brother, and they had a wild weekend affair. When Trent shows up on her doorstep with a job offer after she loses a proposal, she thinks the timing was perfect. Unfortunately, it was too perfect. When she stumbles across some information that leads her to the truth behind her hire, she furiously confronts Trent. He does not deny her accusations, and she cannot believe how easily the man played her. Since she is a professional, she will do her job and do it well, but she will no longer spend her time outside of work with Trent. Will she be able to concentrate on her work when the object of her fantasies is her boss? Is she going to be able to completely rip him from the heart that he has already captured?
Trent Tyler goes after what he wants, and right now he wants Julia Lowell for both business and pleasure. Though mainly, he needs her to help resurrect Tempest West, a western themed resort, to give him the boost he needs to beat his brother in a little bet. When he makes a deal with a company and acquires Julia in the process, he considers himself in a win-win situation. He never considered how she would take it if she ever found out the truth. Losing Julia in his bed has him questioning his reasons for hiring her. Does he want her for more than just her mind? Was their affair the beginning of something more than just a fling?
Charlene Sands gifts us with a very satisfying romance. She writes in a way that we can empathize with her characters. Julia knows that she is going in to this job with her emotions too close to the surface. Trent seems to think that Julia is going to give him everything he desires both in and out of the office. Little does he realize that there is more to life than fun and games, and the readers get to wonder if he will ever learn that important lesson before he loses everything. FIVE-STAR COWBOY is a wonderfully entertaining read that takes us on a bumpy ride as Trent and Julia try to find their path. I will be looking forward to the next brother's story as Ms. Sands continues this series.
Winning Was Everything
Texan Trent Tyler had never met a deal he couldnβt conquerβ
or a woman, for that matter. Now the success of his
Arizona hotel project required him to do what he did best:
seduce a lady into submission. The irony? What Trent needed
most from Julia Lowell was her brains.
With memories of their torrid weekend affair still fresh
in their minds, Trent easily convinced Julia to become an
employeeβ¦with benefits. But when she discovered the truth
behind her hire, who would come out on top?
