Zoe has always lead a unique life since she developed the ability to travel outside her body. Since her encounter with a creature which stole her voice, she is developing new and rather frightening abilities.

Her last job went awry, so her employer makes another demand which will lead Zoe to a fund raiser and a murder. She hasn't told her lover, Daniel about her abilities. His constant derisive comments about another detective, Joe, who believes in things that go bump in the night, lead her to reconsider their relationship.

As she, Daniel, and Joe battle residents of the astral plane who have big plans for the world, Zoe will find whole life changing. Someone has taken over her mother and her doctor. Each encounter with the astral plane and its bad guys will leave Zoe in the hospital and having to wing it as she fights to save the world.
